About the Opportunity

The OKX DEX-SWAP team is building the future of multi-chain trading — a one-stop aggregated platform that empowers users to discover and trade any token across blockchains with the best liquidity and prices. We leverage intelligent routing algorithms to minimize slippage, optimize fees, and accelerate execution. If you're passionate about cross-chain interoperability, smart routing, and decentralized liquidity, this is the team for you.

We're looking for a seasoned backend engineer to own our DEX Derivatives, Web3 Growth, and Innovative Product verticals — designing, building, and scaling the core systems powering OKX's next-generation Web3 products, with a path to technical leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing

Build secure, scalable, and well-tested backend systems supporting OKX's Web3 product suite, including derivatives trading, cross-chain liquidity, and user engagement features.
Drive products from concept to live deployment, ensuring high reliability and performance in production.
Lead development of DEX-based derivatives (e.g. options, perpetuals, structured products) and experiment with Web3 growth mechanisms such as token incentives, referral systems, and gamified engagement.
Champion engineering best practices, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to key architectural decisions

What We Look For In You

5+ years of backend development experience with a track record of building scalable, high-availability systems.
Strong ownership mindset with the ability to lead platform development from ideation to launch.
Proficiency in Java, with a focus on clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals, DeFi mechanics, and dApp architecture.
Passion for decentralized technologies and the Web3 ecosystem.
Understands AI capabilities and limitations and applies sound judgment on when and how to use AI effectively.
Integrates AI tools into development workflows for productivity gains, while critically validating outputs and avoiding blind reliance.

Nice to Haves

Experience with derivatives trading systems, order-matching engines, or risk management in fintech/crypto.
Hands-on experience with cross-chain protocols (e.g. LayerZero, Wormhole, CCIP), smart contract interaction, or oracle integrations.
Background in growth product development, including A/B testing, referral systems, or tokenomics design.
Drives AI adoption across the team, coaching on AI literacy, championing responsible usage, and establishing standards for AI-assisted workflows.
